Job Site Supervision with Guimar Urbina

What does a day as a professional interior designer look like?

An interior designer is responsible for a variety of objectives within the industry. The first, and most obvious, is to create innovative designs that offer solutions to clients in an aesthetically pleasing way.

This process involves finding inspiration, creating design concepts, selecting pieces/materials/finishes, and creating precise drawings.

Once the beauty of design is completed and finalized, it is time to really get to work. The stage of administration and project management is crucial for the success of the project.

Depending on scale of construction, the designer and team work collaboratively with contractor and subcontractors during the process to ensure every detail is completed accordingly. However, no matter how precise direction may be, complications always arise and solutions need to be provided.

This video gives a sneak peek into Guimar at a job site located in the Rise Brickell Center, Miami. During this mid-way stage, she meets with the team to review all aspects including shop drawings, installations, adjustments, and next steps.
