Key Biscayne is a coveted Island in South Florida where nature fuses with high-end private living. We worked on converting a new construction, family-home into a dreamy environment fit for every-day life as well as entertaining guests.
After meeting with clients and learning about their daily needs and wants, we focused on a concept that kept the design refreshing, modern, yet very functional. The great room, which includes entrance, living, and dining, was the focus of the project. Porcelain floors and bright white walls were paired with neutral toned furniture, metallic details, and wood accents. White based furnishings were paired with layers of warm gray-tones to add contrast and depth. The goal was to create a space that was inspiring with trendy pieces and an overall chic appeal.
Some of our favorite pieces in the space include the modern pendant light fixture and gold-embossed bar cabinet in the living room. These elements add the right amount of luxe we were looking for.
The dining room was further enhanced by incorporating custom columns that framed the mirror-wall perfectly and added a wow factor upon entering the home.
Leading out of the great room, one enters the vast kitchen with the tucked away family room. Instead of an overall white-theme decor, the family room honed more into deep grays and red accents. It is meant to be fun, casual, and comfortable. A large sectional faces a custom designed media unit and is topped off with a bold-patterned rug. A light, wire-framed pendant light stands out against the taupe wallcovering.
Heading upstairs, we enter the private quarters and bedrooms. This stage of the project was especially entertaining because we involved each child and parent to participate in the design. The purpose was to create rooms that were very unique to each individual member.
The master bedroom kept a more peaceful tone with neutral finishes, white hues, and warm accents. Across the bed, we designed a custom unit that served as a minimalist working desk, storage, and TV placement.
The three kids were very excited with the final results since we took the time to get to work with each one. A bright yellow wall adds a pop to match the young boy's vibrant personality. Toys and games are strategically tucked away in a multi-functional desk with storage space.
The younger girl's bedroom was designed to be delicate and fit for a princess. Blush tones are paired with white furnishings, and feminine fabrics such as tulle, faux fur, and feathers.
In contrast, the older girl bedroom stuck to a bohemian appeal with fringe details, layers of patterns, and an overall cool-tone palette.
Moving from the interior to exterior, the outdoor patio was designed with full functionality in mind with integrated luxury pieces. An intimate seating area overlooks the yard and pool. Black and white striped curtains and umbrellas add pizzaz to the white furniture. A completely custom BBQ island was created to bring the party outdoors and keep the function of the cooking neat and contemporary. The overall effect of the outdoor decor ties in perfectly with the rest of the home, keeping in tune clean lines and an overall elegant atmosphere.
